At OBLF, we firmly believe that sustainable and scalable social development initiatives are only possible when the community is actively engaged and invested in the programs. Guided by this philosophy, we have developed a two-pronged approach that not only empowers women by building their skills, capacity, and agency but also provides them with direct employment and livelihood opportunities within OBLF’s Education and Public Healthcare programs.
This approach functions as an integrated program delivery system by identifying and training semi-educated women from the communities OBLF serves. These women are then employed as community teachers in OBLF schools or as frontline health workers in our public health initiatives.
Over the past 14 years, OBLF has successfully trained and empowered more than 500 women, with nearly 150 of them currently employed in our Education and Healthcare programs. Moving forward, we are expanding our efforts to upskill youth, placing them in suitable jobs across sectors such as retail, hospitality, education, healthcare, and more.
Impact reported over the years has shown women to have advanced in the following areas within the communities.
